My family and I are heading out on a vacation to PEI from Halifax this coming week and I plan on wearing my newly acquired tilley hat. My wife of course said, wear the chin strap but being me I strapped it up on the back of the hat thinking nahhhhhhhh the strap is silly. Well, we're heading out for a day trip here soon prior to the big trip later this week and I thought I'd look up "tilley hat" on Google while I wait for everyone to get ready.

After having read your post... I now sit here with my tilley hat on, wind cord deployed under the chin as intended. Thank you for possibly saving my life. :)
